Evangelists are people who spread the life-saving message of Jesus—also known as the gospel—to others. So, anyone who heeds Jesus’s message and works to actively spread it so that they may help others achieve salvation is an evangelist. There are many different ways to evangelize, but some people are more natural evangelists than others. But how do you know if you are a natural evangelist or not? Here are some of the signs you are an evangelist:

  • You Connect With Others Easily - One sign that you are an evangelist is if you connect with others easily. Spreading Jesus’s message requires talking to people, connecting with them, and sharing the gospel with them in a way that encourages them to take action. Not everyone can easily do these things, so being able to connect with others is a sign you are an evangelist.


  • You Love the Gospel - There’s a difference between people who simply read and understand the messages of the gospel and individuals who love the gospel, who make it a central part of their life. If you have a deep understanding and love of the gospel and frequently talk about it with others, know it through and through, and let it guide your life, then it is a sign you are an evangelist.


  • You Are Open About Your Beliefs - Another sign that you are an evangelist is if you are open about your beliefs and don’t care what others think of you. Spreading the gospel is not for the faint of heart who want to keep their faith a secret. It is for courageous individuals who will work to spread the life-saving message of Jesus, even when other people ridicule and mock them.


  • Helping Others Is an Essential Part of Your Life - It’s also a sign you are an evangelist if helping other people is an essential part of your life. The entire point of evangelizing is to help other people achieve salvation, so you are attempting to help them in one of the greatest ways by spreading Jesus’s message. The care and love for others is one of the primary signs of an evangelist.
